Leather patch trucker hats in bulk
Battle Born Clothing has made leather patches since 2020 on an OMTech 80-watt CO2 laser. We cut the shape, engrave your art, and attach the patch to the hat with a proprietary heat process on a two-platen VEVOR hat press. Sewn-on is available for $1 more per hat.

Shapes, sizes and leather
- Shapes: rectangle, rounded rectangle, oval, circle, shield, hexagon, or a custom outline cut from your art.
- Sizes: most front patches are 2 to 3.5 in wide. We size to the hat and show it on the proof.
- Finish: engraving burns the art into the leather face for a dark-on-tan look. Solid areas and line art both work; photographs and gradients do not.
Glued vs sewn
Glued is our standard and the method we have refined since 2020. The patch bonds to the panel under heat and pressure and survives normal wear and washing. Sewn adds a stitched border around the patch for a visible, traditional finish and costs $1 more per hat. Read the full comparison in our embroidery vs patch guide.
Which hats take a patch best
Structured fronts with no center seam are easiest: Richardson 112FP, 168, YP 6006. The six-panel Richardson 112 and YP 6606 work fine with patches up to about 3 in wide centered over the seam. Foam fronts and very soft unstructured crowns are not good candidates.
Artwork that engraves well
- Vector line art and solid shapes.
- Text at or above 0.2 in tall.
- One color. Engraving is tone, not color.
- No fine halftones, gradients or photos.

Is there a minimum for leather patch hats?
No hard minimum. The 12-23 tier is $8.00 per patch plus the blank.
Will a glued patch come off?
Not under normal use. We have used the same heat-glue process since 2020. If a patch fails because of our work, we redo it free.
Can I get a patch and embroidery on the same hat?
Yes. Patch on the front and embroidery on the side or back is common. You pay the patch price plus the embroidery price for your tier.
